Please allow me to convey my sincere appreciation for recognizing Michael William‘s cost-saving suggestion through the NC SEIBP program in such a tangible, meaningful way at today’s Committee meeting. I believe that this program is one that benefits employees who offer cost-saving suggestions as well as state government as partners in finding ways to make programs and services efficient and effective.
Most importantly, your recognition validates Michael’s initiative and interest in suggesting a viable method for achieving efficiency in our Department, and it affirms that employees’ ideas and suggestions have merit and value. Among programs in state government that directly benefit state employees, the SEIBP is one that clearly elevates employee morale and creates incentive for other employees to seek ways to improve state government. As a 30+ year State government manager, I am truly grateful for this means of rewarding an employee’s outstanding performance, initiative and innovation, such as that consistently exemplified by Michael Williams.
You can be assured that Michael and his family are quite proud of his recognition today, and I know that his colleagues are equally pleased about his award.
